- Schedule and conduct resident/applicant interviews for certifications, collaborating with site staff.
- Review and verify paperwork, ensuring timely processing of resident files in line with company and regulatory policies.
- Advise site staff on file processing systems, procedures, and resources.
- Mentor on?site staff to complete certifications and resolve qualification disputes.
- Coordinate recertification inspections with Community Directors and site staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, track progress in software, and update certifications throughout the process.
- Perform internal audits (targeting at least 8% of the portfolio monthly) and support state and federal audit preparation.
- Provide support for new construction lease?up, re?syndication, or property acquisition/rehab initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison among site staff, residents, third?party compliance services, and central leadership.
- Escalate unresolved compliance deficiencies to the Compliance Department or Regional Property Supervisors.
- Assist in conducting monthly EIV/MEL audits and other assigned auditing tasks.
- Travel varies by portfolio needs: daily, weekly, or monthly.
- May require short?notice travel to assigned properties.
- Travel may be day?only or involve overnight stays, depending on assignment duration.

Field Compliance Specialist
The Field Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing affordable housing applications and ensuring eligibility and compliance with current regulatory requirements.
Travel Required: 100%
Position Summary
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the specialist travels to assigned multifamily communities to confirm resident eligibility and support initial and ongoing occupancy certifications. The role requires frequent travel, interaction with on?site teams and residents, and collaboration with Operations and Compliance Department to complete inspections, audits, and certification processes accurately.
