    Description

    The Cardiology Section at VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) invites applications for a full-time position as Cardiologist with skills in cardiac imaging. The successful candidate will participate in the general cardiology service at VABHS with a focus on echocardiography, ambulatory cardiology, and some inpatient care.

    The position involves teaching and mentoring internal medicine residents and cardiovascular disease fellows from Harvard Medical School and Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. There are opportunities to develop clinical research and/or quality improvement programs within the Section. Additional opportunities may be available for leadership roles.

    The successful candidate should have a record of clinical expertise and innovation in cardiology including advanced echocardiography (Level III training) and other cardiac imaging (e.g. CT and MRI). Accomplishments should be commensurate with academic appointment as Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

    VABHS is a multi-campus tertiary care medical center that provides a full range of patient care services along with nationally recognized education and innovative research activities. VABHS has one of the largest research programs in VA with several federally funded research centers, including VA's signature genetic repository, the Million Veteran Program, which offer significant collaborative opportunities.

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am – 4:30pm, with some on-call responsibilities.

    Telework: Authorized. Telework can be performed on a less than full-time basis anywhere other than a VA facility or using VA-leased space (example: home).

    The position requires US citizenship, MD with licensure, and the candidate should have level 3 training in echocardiography and Board Certification or Eligibility in cardiovascular disease.
