    Position Description

    Reports to: Executive Director, Administrative Affairs

    The Director of Product Management is a leadership role responsible for steering the strategic vision and roadmap for the organization's products and in-house solutions. This role is responsible for end-to-end, enterprise-level product management that aligns with the organization's mission and strategic initiatives. This individual ensures alignment with physician/customer needs and market demands. The Director of Product Management oversees the product team, guiding the entire product lifecycle from conception through launch and its ongoing operation. The Director partners with the software development team, and collaborates with executive leaders, external customers, and interdepartmental teams.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business) or equivalent experience

    Experience

    • Minimum of 8 years' experience working in software product with experience managing in an Agile environment
    • Experience in Customer Experience Design, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Experience with modern technology stacks and supporting management of the software development backlog.
    • Demonstrated history of product leadership across teams including design, development, marketing, sales, business development, and finance.
    • Experience with the Pragmatic Framework a plus.

    Specific Responsibilities

    1. Product Management

    • Assist the Executive Team in the design and maintenance of the organization's strategic initiatives.
    • Develop business cases and communicate a clear product strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Define, prioritize and document product features, enhancements, requirements and releases, and execute upon initiatives to ensure requirements meet organizational needs.
    • Organize requirements gathering efforts on processes, requirements and systems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute the product roadmap.
    • Conduct market research, competitive analyses, and customer feedback.
    • Drive product innovation, ensuring timely delivery and quality within budget.
    • Oversee the development team's backlog.
    • Provide input to development activities, including grooming sessions, sprint planning, scrum, and retrospectives.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders and QA team to build user acceptance testing plans in alignment with requirements represented in user stories.
    • Provide status updates to stakeholder groups on product development, feedback, feature requests, and performance of deliverables.
    • Track key performance indicators of existing and new features to evaluate usefulness to customers.
    • Lead continuous product improvements.

    2. Human Resources

    • Manage agile product owners.
    • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, coordinates efforts, sets objectives, establishes priorities, and conducts annual performance reviews.
    • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis.
    • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
    • Support ongoing professional development to ensure team maintains current skills and best practices.

    Special Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on occasion.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to work onsite in Raleigh, N.C.
