    Mennonite Village is a well-respected not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) with a 70+ year history. We are currently seeking a Weekend Nighttime Janitor to be responsible for the routine care of floors and to make rounds throughout campus twice per shift to help discourage unwanted trespassers using vehicle provided by Mennonite Village. Employee is to use care, good judgement, and safe work habits in all responsibilities. This person is to follow the established safety rules, policies, and procedures of the Housekeeping Department and coordinate with other employees and residents. Hours of work are from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM Saturday/Sunday and every other Friday.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Dry mops all hallways and public areas.

    Vacuums all entry carpet mats.

    Scrubs all hallways and public areas with the floor machine on a daily basis.

    Maintains the floor machine including cleaning and recharging.

    Buffs all hallways once a week.

    Scrubs and recoats floors with wax once every three months.

    Strips and refinishes floors as needed.

    Schedules best time to perform task with affected parties.

    Maintains inventory of needed supplies on personal work cart. Orders supplies.

    Records completed tasks on provided forms each night.

    Submits task forms to the housekeeping supervisor.

    Schedules and cleans nursing equipment such as wheelchairs, geri-chairs, etc.

    Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job.

    Abide by the standards and procedures of the Mennonite Village Compliance and Privacy Program and Values and Expectations Statement.

    Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies.

    Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor.

    Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor.

    Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually.

    Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Supportive of the Mennonite Home philosophy.

    Demonstrated knowledge in floor maintenance and related equipment operation.

    Ability to prioritize workload and act independently under general guidelines.

    Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.

    Capable of pushing equipment weighing 80 pounds; ability to stoop, bend, and lift equipment; ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

    Ability to work in uncomfortable temperatures and odors.

    Ability to follow Materials Safety Data Sheet regarding the proper handling and disposal of dangerous chemicals.
