    Job summary:


    The Structural Design Engineer utilizes the NX-Teamcenter tool suite in the design or leadership of a design team in the development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using metallic and/or composite materials for new aircraft design and/or modifications to existing aircraft.

    Engineers work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to independently prepare and/or lead the preparation of engineering design solutions to challenging problems through the development of Product Definition Packages.

    This role can be filled as a Principal (level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (level 4) based on the qualifications below.


    Basic Qualifications:

    Principal Engineer :
    Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience; OR

    Master's degree in a STEM discipline

    and 3 years of related experience

    Sr Principal Engineer:
    Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of related experience; OR

    Master's degree in a STEM discipline

    and 7 years of related experience
    Background in primary aircraft structural design
    Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret and Special Access Program (
    SAP) clearances

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
    Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling
    Proficiency with Teamcenter

    Salary Range:
    $84,200 - $126,400

    Salary Range 2:
    $104,400 - $156,600

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
