Determines the nature and extent of the patients condition while trying to ascertain whether the patient has pre-existing medical problems Treats patients with minor injuries on the scene of an accident or at their home before or instead of transporting them to a medical facility Emergency treatments for more complicated problems are carried out under the direction of medical doctors by radio preceding or during transport. Requires certification as an EMT-Paramedic

Acquires CEUs as per certification level
Degrees, Licensure and/or Certification:
Must have valid Class D drivers license
Must provide evidence of recertification of EMT certification bi-annually
BLS certified
ACLS certified
Must have a copy of a diploma or offical transcript of the highest level of education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates professional growth through independent study
Demonstrates attendance at continuing education offerings EMS related
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
May require successful completion of a physical abilities test.
