Truck Driver 2 Position in Salem

This job listing is for a Truck Driver 2 position at the Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) in Salem. ODOC is on the lookout for dedicated individuals to join their team and offers a range of employment opportunities in various roles. The department's main goal is to ensure public safety by holding offenders accountable and reducing the chances of future criminal activities.

About the Role:

Based at the Oregon Department of Corrections Central Distribution Center in Salem, Oregon
Responsibilities include short haul day trips, long haul day trips, and occasional overnight trips
Mainly transporting food and institution supplies on pallets in refer controlled trailers
Occasional flatbed trailer hauling and operating transport buses with Adults in Custody
Work schedules involve four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days
Most routes are within Oregon with some out-of-state travel

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Truck Driver 2 with a vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or higher, Oregon driver license for the class of vehicle
Requested Qualifications:

CDL Class A
Passenger Endorsement
Two or more years of experience
Experience hauling 53' trailers
Forklift, riding pallet jack, and walking electric pallet jack experience

Successful candidates will be selected for interviews based on their relevant experience and skills. Make sure to detail your qualifications and skills accurately in the work experience section of the application to enhance your chances of selection.

Working Conditions: Working in a minimum and medium custody adult correctional facility with daily interactions with adults in custody.

Employment Requirements: Candidates must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check.
