    OU HSC is one of only four comprehensive academic health centers in the nation with seven professional colleges. We are looking for an Attorney to join the team.

    This position provides legal services and advice to the departments and colleges at the OU Health Sciences Center and HSC programs at OU Tulsa, including faculty grievances/appeals, student grievances/appeal, regulatory compliance, contract review, and other duties as assigned.


    Duties:
    Primary responsibility is to provide general higher education legal services.
    Secondary responsibility to render professional services in the areas of transactional law.
    Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

    Job Location

    Education:
    Juris Doctorate (JD) from an American Bar Association (ABA) law school
    AND:
    12 months experience as an attorney or legal experienceCertifications/Licenses: License to practice law in Oklahoma (and be in good standing), or anticipate to be licensed in the State of Oklahoma within 30 days


    Preferences:
    3-7 years of experience as an attorney or legal experienceHigher education law experienceSkills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and WestlawAbility to speak, read and write clear, concise EnglishAbility to accurately read and understand written materials and instructionsDetail oriented for accuracy of data and informationHighly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlinesAble to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty, and staffMust have impeccable legal research and writing skillsMust be self-motivated and exhibit strict adherence to professional and ethical behaviorExceptional skills in accurately presenting factual and legal theories and argumentsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervisionMust be proactive and able to assist the management, delegation, and coordination of tasks, as neededMust be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulationsComposition and proofreading skills

    Working Conditions:
    Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively and listens. Engages in repetitive motion. Subject to stress caused by deadlines and workload.
