- Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Use a variety of assessment tools and methods to identify learning difficulties, mental health issues, and developmental delays.
- Develop and interpret assessment reports and provide recommendations for intervention and support.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, emotional, and behavioral issues.
- Develop and implement intervention plans based on assessment results and student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and support individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Provide immediate support and intervention for students experiencing psychological crises or trauma.
- Develop and implement crisis response plans and safety plans for students at risk.
- Work with school staff and community agencies to ensure students and families receive appropriate support.
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to address student needs and support academic success.
- Provide guidance on behavioral management strategies and best practices for supporting students with mental health issues.
- Collaborate with parents to provide strategies and resources to support their child's development and well-being.
- Develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives to promote mental health and a positive school climate.
- Conduct workshops and training for teachers, staff, and parents on topics such as mental health, behavior management, and learning disabilities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of psychological programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay current with the latest research and best practices in school psychology and mental health.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and other professional development activities related to school psychology.
- Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to enhance their ability to support student mental health.
- Doctoral or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Previous experience in school psychology or working with children and adolescents preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment, counseling techniques, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Proficiency in the use of technology for assessment, record-keeping, and communication.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move freely for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and move educational materials and supplies as necessary.
- Ability to supervise and interact with students in a variety of settings.
- Work is performed in a school setting and may require traveling between classrooms and schools.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for school events and meetings.
