    Job DescriptionThe American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a Associate, Constituent Services. Working as a member of the Constituent Services department, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy.

    Responsible for revenue, invoice, and acknowledgement processing in addition to database management across multiple offices.

    Location: The position is located at the American Lung Association's East Hartford, Connecticut office and will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual work.

    Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate a 'constituent first' level of service by ensuring that requests for service and support (phone, email, etc.) are quickly addressed.
    • Serve as the first contact for incoming calls, directing to the appropriate staff or resource.
    • Ensure business rules and processes are being performed accurately and consistently.
    • Process deposits daily according to procedures, ensuring that all revenue is accurately recorded in the appropriate database (ROI, Convio, OneCause, etc.).
    • Responsible for entering accounts receivable.
    • Process payment of local invoices.
    • Prepare and send donor acknowledgments ensuring adherence to business rules and tax guidelines for various gift types.
    • Identify misdirected donations to ensure donor intent is honored and ensure corrected acknowledgement is sent to donor.
    • Work with local staff to acquire in-kind gift information, ensuring that in-kind gifts are submitted on a quarterly basis.
    • Oversight of constituent records, including accurate account creation, usage of primary corporate accounts, and duplicate consolidation.
    • Maintain supply inventory and work with Business Operations on equipment maintenance and office vendors.
    • Assist in other Constituent Services projects and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Business or related field preferred.
    • Two to three years of solid administrative experience with ability to handle a variety of inquiries with courtesy and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
    • Excellent people skills working as part of an internal team and with external volunteers.
    • Ability to organize and multi-task and pay strong attention to details.
    • Ability to prioritize, self-motivate and work independently for extended periods of time.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and experience using database systems.
    • Knowledge of telephone systems, copiers, fax machines, etc.
    • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus
    • Consistent with its mission, the American Lung Association maintains a tobacco-free workplace, all employees must abstain from tobacco use in any form, including vaping.

    Compensation: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The target hiring range for this position is between $43,000 and $47,000 per annum.

    Benefits: The Lung Association offers a comprehensive benefits package including:

    • Paid Leave - 10 vacation days in the first year (15 days thereafter), 2 personal days and 15 sick days per year, as well as 12 company-paid holidays per year. We also offer Paid Parental Leave for eligible employees.
    • Insurance - Employees (and their eligible dependents) can enroll in our medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as voluntary plans for critical illness, accident, hospital indemnity, short-term disability and supplemental life/AD&D insurance. Employees will be enrolled in company-paid life/AD&D and long-term disability Insurance coverage.
    • Retirement Plan - Eligible employees can participate in our 401(k) Defined Contribution Retirement Plan, which offers matching employer contributions (up to 4%) and year-end discretionary non-elective contributions.
