MEDICAL BILLER - OPHTHALMOLOGY PRACTICE
Multi-subspecialty private ophthalmology practice is seeking an experienced medical biller to join our awesome billing department team The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and 2+ years medical practice billing experience - ophthalmology preferred, but not required. ASC billing a plus

Duties:

• Prepare and file all insurance claims, obtain prior authorizations and review and follow up on all incorrect payments or denials
• Follow up with insurance companies and insurance adjusters to ensure timely and accurate payment
• Work aging reports and other monthly reports
• Post all incoming patient and insurance payments
• Follow up on accounts receivable claims, appeals and denials
• Complete all patient/insurance follow up and collections on past due accounts
• Answer patient calls and billing inquiries

Requirements:

• 2+ years medical billing experience with a medical practice - ophthalmology specialty preferred
• Full understanding of the billing cycle to include all aspects of registration and billing
• Understand documentation, claim filing, payment posting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Enjoys working with team, but also able to work independently
