    Description

    Summary:
    The High School Attendance Secretary will perform secretarial and clerical duties to ensure efficient and effective office operations. S/he will contribute a positive impact toward the provision of educational services at school.


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide assistance to the Assistant Principal/Principal including secretarial and clerical duties.
    • Maintain attendance records for count and maintain up to date attendance records for each student.
    • Communicating attendance absences to staff and parents.
    • Data collection/tracking regarding high school CAP attendance policy.
    • Sends early release passes to students/teachers via email for appointments per parent requests.
    • Record behavior management for students in Infinite Campus for Principal/Assistant Principal/Dean of Students. Communicate information to appropriate administration and teaching staff.
    • Provide a positive first impression to visitors to the high school office, directing them to various locations. Answer incoming calls; direct calls, record and transmit telephone messages to staff as required.
    • Coordinate Graduation, Honors Ceremony, and other acknowledgements through the year.
    • Prepare and calculate numbers and student information for Pupil Count Day.
    • Prepare and maintain various records, reports, spreadsheets, files, etc. as requested. Assist in special projects as needed.
    • Assist students by dispensing medication, perform medically related tasks, contact parents when necessary, and care for sick/injured children.
    • Answer and route incoming phone calls. Initiate and respond to routine inquiries, resolve problems, and either assist the caller or transfer calls as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Associates degree with related work experience preferred.
    • Computer and word processing expertise is required, as well as knowledge regarding general office machines and equipment. Knowledge of Infinite Campus and CIMS preferred.
    • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, parents, and community.
    • High degree of integrity to maintain confidentiality on student information is necessary.
    • Must have the ability to work effectively in an environment where interruptions are frequent and noise level is high. Lifting and moving materials, supplies and equipment may be necessary.

    Schedule:

    • Student calendar plus 6 weeks
    • 8 hours per day

    Compensation:

    • Level III - $ $17.85
    This is a replacement position.
