    POSITION SUMMARY


    The 2nd shift ID/OD Grinder, working closely with the 1st shift grinder, will program, set-up, adjust and operate the year old ID/OD Kellenberger grinder to grind close tolerance, precision machinery parts using engineering and machining documentation.

    This position requires a combination of technical capability, creativity and troubleshooting abilities and a strong attention to detail and accuracy.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    *Plan sequence of steps to achieve precise product dimensions using engineering documentation

    *Program and set up grinder for OD, ID, thread, profile, and cam grinding operations

    *Operate grinder and make adjustments as needed

    *Conduct final inspection on parts using indicators, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment

    *Conversational programming of Fanuc CNC controls with Kellenberger interface (preferred, but will train)

    *Maintain equipment and machines/perform PM

    *All other duties as assigned


    MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    *Associates Degree in CNC Machining, Tool & Die or other related study (or equivalent experience)


    • 3+ years' experience programming, set-up and operation of CNC ID/OD grinders
    *Demonstrated high productivity through the use of good planning and technology

    *Attention to detail and a desire to maintain high standards of workmanship

    *Possesses own quality inspection and hand tools

    *Innovative and forward-thinking with a continuous improvement mindset

    PHYSICAL REEQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
    *Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds unassisted. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds unassisted. Occasional use of overhead cranes for lifts greater than 50 pounds

    *Regularly stands for 8 hours

    *Regularly bends, stoops, reaches, climbs, and moves

    *Regularly exerts up to 10 pounds of force frequently exerts up to 25 pounds of force to move objects

    *Work environment is bright and temperature controlled

    *The nature of the work involves contact with various metals and oils
