JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy located in Colorado who is searching for a qualified, hands-on Herd Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of dairy management experience leading a team of at least 7 employees, and is looking to foster a positive and productive workplace culture, implement excellent cow handling and management protocols.

The Herd Manager will oversee the maintenance / scheduling / hiring / firing and all aspects of dairy herd personnel and animal care.

General knowledge of maintenance including day-to-day operation of crowd gate, milking parlor equipment, headlocks, water tanks, etc.

using Dairy Comp as well as oversee sorting / cow productivity and health records using SCR (training on SCR will be provided if necessary.) Oversee breeding, maternity, milking, dry-off, health maintenance and acute and accurate identification and treatment of sick / lame animals.
