    We are currently seeking a Cloud Monitoring Specialist to lead the migration of application monitoring from New Relic to AWS CloudWatch. In this pivotal role, you will design and implement new CloudWatch dashboards, set up essential metrics and alarms, and collaborate closely with our clients' development teams to enhance application telemetry and custom metrics directly published to CloudWatch.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include:

    • Dashboard Design & Implementation: Create customized AWS CloudWatch dashboards to monitor application performance, infrastructure health, and key business metrics.
    • Migration Planning: Analyze existing New Relic configurations and develop a strategic migration plan to replicate or improve monitoring insights using CloudWatch.
    • Application Integration: Work with development teams to modify applications for emitting metrics, logs, and traces to CloudWatch.
    • Automation and IaC: Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to manage monitoring configurations efficiently.
    • Optimization: Establish and maintain monitoring standards and practices, optimizing log retention, metric granularity, and cost efficiency.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.
    • Extensive hands-on expertise with AWS CloudWatch.
    • Familiarity with New Relic or similar APM tools.
    • Proven experience in instrumenting applications for telemetry and custom metrics.
    • Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, , Java, C#).
    • Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, and IAM.
    • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
    • Familiarity with AWS Observability Accelerator.
    • Knowledge of monitoring strategies for AWS multi-account environments.
    • Experience creating reusable CloudWatch dashboard templates.

    Key Deliverables Include:

    • Complete inventory and mapping of existing New Relic dashboards.
    • Detailed migration plan to CloudWatch.
    • Fully functional CloudWatch dashboards and alerts across environments.
    • Updated application instrumentation configurations.
    • Knowledge transfer documentation for client teams.
