8/19/24 Minimum Qualifications Positive attitude and demonstrates respect towards individuals with Autism.Ability to work independently and as a team player with direction from supervisor.
Dependable, punctual and professional at all times.
Enthusiastic willingness to learn and participate fully.
Previous experience with individuals with Autism or related experience.
Must be comfortable using computers and have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and Google Meet platforms. Desired Qualifications At least one year experience working with individual(s) with Autism. CPI training preferred.
CPR/First aid training preferred Position Purpose Summer Camp Staff are responsible for helping ensure the safety and engagement of campers with autism spectrum disorders at OUCARES summer camps.
Camp staff have to have a team-focused mindset because they will work with multiple other staff, lead teachers, administrators, and practicum students to help with initiating campers' hands-on involvement in all camp activities.
Furthermore, camp staff must have great communication skills and be able to problem solve quickly. They are critical for keeping an energetic, safe environment and an engaging approach at OUCARES camps. Job Duties Stay committed to your work schedule, including attending regular staff meetings.Work as a team with lead teachers, administrators, and practicum students to communicate and implement daily camp activities for campers with autism spectrum disorders.
This includes assisting with the camp curriculum, setting up activities, carrying out and cleaning up after all camp activities. Assist with the creation and implementation of positive behavior supports for the campers. Initiate interactions and engage with campers in all activities.Keep a clean and safe camp environment at all times, following all OU protocols to keep staff and campers safe and healthy.
Ensure general safety and adherence to all OU and OUCARES policies and procedures at all times. Open Until Filled Yes
