Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front Counter Associate to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced food service environment. This role is essential in delivering exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring a smooth operation at the front counter. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling, cashiering, and providing excellent customer service within the food industry or quick service restaurant setting. Previous experience with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, sales, and hospitality while working in a lively café or restaurant atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service at the front counter
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change with basic math skills
- Assist with food preparation and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Manage food handling, serving, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness of the front area
- Ensure quick service delivery while maintaining high-quality customer interactions
- Support kitchen staff as needed with basic food prep or restocking supplies
- Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines to uphold health standards in the café or restaurant environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, quick service & fast food restaurants, or retail math is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with an outgoing and friendly demeanor
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures within the food industry
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Experience with upselling and sales techniques to maximize revenue opportunities
- Basic kitchen experience or culinary background is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and teamwork mindset
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $10.98 per hour
