Job Overview

Responsible for managing and maintaining all refrigeration/support systems.

Responsibilities

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

Ensure timely completion of all PSM documents to comply with local regulations.
Review downtime and address issues to ensure proper start-up.
Follow up on previous days' downtime and equipment problems.
Order and approve all necessary parts.
Perform routine maintenance tasks like compressor inspections and oil changes to ensure equipment reliability.
Coordinate with maintenance supervisors and managers.
Manage the fire sprinkler system.
Provide training to maintenance staff on safe practices and emergency protocols.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and compliance documentation.
Update compressor room logbooks daily.
Monitor water chemistry for various systems and address any issues.
Oversee the startup of freeze tunnels and compressor rooms daily.
Maintain refrigeration equipment, freeze tunnels, water systems, boilers, and wastewater treatment plant.
Keep engine rooms and other areas clean and organized.
Assist with Refrigeration System upgrades and installations as needed.
Adhere to food safety and general safety guidelines.
Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures for equipment.
Complete assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications

What we need from you:

Extensive knowledge of refrigeration systems, ammonia systems, hydraulics, and boilers.
Familiarity with production and plant operations along with welding skills.
Minimum of five years' experience in industrial refrigeration work.
Proficiency in reading and understanding technical documents and schematics.
Strong math skills and electrical/electronic troubleshooting capabilities.
Hands-on experience with ammonia-based refrigeration systems.
Membership in local R.E.T.A chapter and CRST certification.

Physical Requirements

Respiratory and Pulmonary fit testing (full face respirator).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work in cold environments frequently.

The estimated salary is based on various factors such as skills, experience, and internal comparisons. Most hires typically start within the lower range. Unlimited PTO requests are considered based on business needs.
