    Local Manufacturing Company / Mechanical Designer Role

    We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team.

    • Design equipment that meets customer, CEMA, and internal specifications
    • Create 3D models of custom bulk material handling equipment using SolidWorks software
    • Develop 2D drawings for customers to review, approve, and modify before manufacturing
    • Create detailed drawings for shop fabrication and assembly of designed equipment
    • Become an expert in company-designed products, including belt conveyors, bucket elevators, and screw conveyors
    • Translate technical specifications into visual representations
    • Identify and communicate potential design problems to the team and customers
    • Perform calculations to size and select design components
    • Evaluate if drawings meet industry and drafting standards
    • Maintain organized files and documentation of all drawings

    Requirements:

    • Proficient in Solidworks or AutoCAD 3D modeling software (minimum 2 years)
    • Strong knowledge and experience with CAD software for creating accurate mechanical drawings
    • Familiarity with drafting principles and standards for clear and concise drawings
    • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
    • Effective communication of technical concepts, both written and verbally
    • Preferrably holds an Associate degree in drafting or a Bachelor's in Engineering, and is comfortable using computer-aided design software
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment (minimum 1 year)
    • Preferred basic understanding of metal fabrication processes like Plasma cutting, forming/bending, and welding
    • Proficient in math used for basic calculations (Algebra and higher)
    • Self-motivated, but able to work collaboratively as part of a team
