    SUMMARY:


    The Radiologic Tech I (Xray Tech I) is responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced.

    They work closely with radiologists, the physicians who interpret medical images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury.


    6 hour shiftsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:


    Maximize utilization of x-ray servicesPrepare patient and documentation for diagnostic testingObtain EMR charts and orders of x-rays to be done on patientTake patient to x-ray room; make sure patient is properly dressed in gown, jewelry off, etc.

    Flip out proper patient room flag indicating that x-rays have been completedEnsure physician needs are met to increase resource utilizationQuery physicians about their needsEducate physicians concerning services providedEnsure Customer SatisfactionPerform diagnostic testPosition patient for x-rays to be taken; set correct technique to be used for procedure;Complete x-ray series and take patient back to roomEnsure film is developed; send to PACS for doctor reviewTake all x-ray requests by other departmentsAssist doctors in various duties when needed as assignedProvide superior service to ensure customer satisfaction with patient/providerPrepare and maintain the exam room, supplies, and equipmentClean x-ray rooms daily, including tables, upright buckys, all knobs, chairs, stools, sink and countersChange linensDisinfect as neededRefill soapsEnsure exam rooms are clean and ready for each patientEnsure all x-ray equipment is maintained and functioning properlyOrder all needed supplies as assignedPerform regular maintenance on x-ray equipmentAppointment Efficiency and VolumeMaximizing Volume and Appointment Efficiency through work-ins and communicating availability in scheduleImprovement process in Total completed exams vs Total In Complete examsPerform administrative duties as directedAnswer phone and questions efficientlyTake messages and follow through when patients are finishedMake CDs for patients requesting their films to take to other facilities or for their personal useEnsure that a release has been signed for patients requesting their x-raysPrepare surgery lists for each doctorEnsure doctors are satisfied with all films takenSend films to hospital or SCP on day of surgeryCheck daily for cancellations or add-ons as assignedAssist in training personnelKeep up-to-date on state regulations for safety and equipment, including state regulation policy manual.

    Mail back all outside films that patients leave hereWork at satellite clinics as assignedTimeliness for charge entry, imaging 24 hour turnaround timeAccuracy of charge entry, checking editsRequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    One year of experience preferredGraduation from a Certified Radiologic Technology programCRT and ARRT CertificationCurrent BCLS certificationAbility to conduct quality control studiesAbility to use computerized radiologic equipmentAbility to operate a computer for recordkeeping purposesAbility to establish effective working relationships with patients and staff
