Collaborate with customers and internal teams to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for network and communication systems
Analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware, and software designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and aircraft certification requirements
Perform wireless and/or SATCOM engineering trade studies, analyses, modeling & simulation, prototyping, and experimentation to optimize system performance and meet certification criteria
Plan, develop, and execute test and evaluation (T&E) activities for network and communication systems, focusing on hardware qualification and aircraft certification
Utilize network and communication system modeling and simulation (M&S) tools to analyze and optimize system performance, considering aircraft-specific constraints and requirements
Utilize field and lab testing and analysis equipment for network and communication system testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with certification standards
Apply RF communications theory, including modulations, link budgets, error correction coding, channel effects, and communications protocols, to optimize system performance and meet certification requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support hardware qualification and aircraft certification processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
Proactively identify and solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle, with a focus on certification-related issues
Research specific technology advances for potential application to hardware qualification and aircraft certification processes
Stay updated with emerging network and communication technologies and certification standards through continuous learning and active engagement with academia and industry
Bachelor's degree in radio frequency (RF) communications, wireless networks, electrical engineering, radar/sensor analysis, network engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network and communication systems engineering
Strong understanding of network engineering concepts, including network architecture, cybersecurity, cloud environments, and virtualization
Hands-on experience in wireless and/or SATCOM engineering trade studies, analyses, modeling & simulation, prototyping, and experimentation
Proficiency in multiple network and communication system modeling and simulation (M&S) tools
Experience using network and communication field and lab testing and analysis equipment
Solid understanding of RF communications theory and its practical application
Familiarity with aircraft certification processes and requirements
