    Description

    Title:
    Event Technician (Temporary Part-Time)

    Position Summary:

    The main job will be at the Clayton Performing Arts Center, Goins Building Auditorium, and other spaces on the Hardin Valley Campus.

    However, events take place on all five campuses so occasional travel may be required.

    Closing Date:
    This position will remain open at the department's discretion.

    Type of Appointment:
    Temporary Part-Time

    Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
    - Provide technical support for internal/external events, including setting up, testing, and dismantling audio/video equipment, operating lighting and sound boards, managing backstage activities.
    - Assist in scheduling college events and entering data into the college scheduling software.
    - Support box office operations by selling tickets and processing orders.
    - Collaborate with clients to plan lighting, sound, media, and staffing needs for events. This may involve attending meetings and rehearsals to assess requirements.
    - Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

    The college reserves the right to change job duties or combine positions at any time.

    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • At least 1 year of relevant work experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    - Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to build a collaborative work environment. Experience in client management is a plus.
    - Familiarity with sound and light board operations in a theatrical or event setting, knowledge of standard A/V equipment, proficiency in data entry software, troubleshooting skills for Audio/Video systems, basic understanding of wiring and wiring diagrams, comprehension of audio reinforcement and playback systems, basic mechanical knowledge.
    - Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. No second language proficiency required.
    - Training provided for sound and light board operations, scheduling software, and ticket sales software.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Specific experience in the performing arts field, especially in theatrical lighting, sound, and stage management.
