    Summary

    The Marketing and Strategic Partnerships Associate is responsible for digital media creation and management for The Magnificent Mile website, strategic partnerships for both enhanced member marketing engagement, paid activations along The Avenue, and strategic partnerships with civic entities and property owners.

    The ideal candidate is an excellent self-starter and communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

    This individual is passionate about producing meaningful content and positive events throughout The Magnificent Mile district.

    The Marketing and Strategic Partnerships Associate provides additional administrative, creative, and operational support to various divisions, including Marketing, Membership, Planning and Advocacy, and The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Marketing and Communications (50%)
    Develop engaging consumer-focused content on owned, earned, and paid channels
    Update website pages with new content and activations weekly
    Add blogposts to promote key events
    Post on The Mag Mile's Facebook and Instagram pages 3-5x a week
    Create and send a monthly consumer newsletter
    Develop a strategy for greater engagement on TikTok
    Integrate member events and offers in all consumer channels
    Provide weekly reports on key metrics across all consumer channels, and develop recommendations for growing pageviews, reach, engagement, followers, and subscribers
    Create, monitor, and manage listings for The Mag Mile across partner sites and online event sites
    Monitor and provide weekly reports on visitor, resident, and employee trends via
    Manage paid digital campaigns on behalf of The Association on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and other channels
    Manage the Marketing Division's internship program in conjunction with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
    Develop influencer relationships for Chicagoland and beyond and connect members with influencers for local events and experiences.
    Manage the information needs of The Magnificent Mile Visitor Center, including development of promotional materials for Ambassadors
    Work with our agency in creative development for advertising and marketing initiatives, including developing 6+ posters for The Magnificent Mile Visitor Center annually
    Planning, Events, and Activations (40%)
    Work directly with the Director of Marketing and Communications on customer attraction initiatives
    Create and implement user experience plans and other placemaking investments
    Plan and implement activations, customer attraction initiatives, and shop local programs
    Support the Manager of Membership at the 20+ member events that are held annually
    Additional Responsibilities (10%)
    Provide writing support for special projects, as needed.
    Provide Office Management support, such as answering main phone line, as needed.
    Support reporting of analytics and marketing reach for annual sponsors, event partners, online advertisers, and member businesses.
    Record meeting minutes and maintain an appropriate file.
    Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications and President and CEO.
    Qualifications and Education Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or equivalent experience.
    Candidate with 1 – 2 years of experience in a digital media/communication preferred
    Candidate with 1 -2 years or experience with event planning or management preferred
    Must be an excellent writer with the ability to write/edit in a variety of writing styles
    Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
    Excellent problem solver and comfortable juggling several projects at once
    Experience scheduling social media posts via Creator Studio, Tweet Deck or similar platforms
    Knowledge of digital marketing platforms, including HubSpot and Meltwater
    Basic knowledge of WordPress and SEO
    Adept at using all Microsoft Office products
    Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
    Team-oriented both with fellow staff and multiple volunteer committees
    Occasional evenings/weekends required
