    \t\tGeneral Purpose and Scope of Position:\r
    \t\r
    \t\tThe Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of Wilbur-Ellis's business processes to ensure that the cost system functionality and performance meet current and future business requirements. This individual will work with the manufacturing branches to maintain cost standards and with retail branches to verify that weighted average costs are handled correctly. The Cost Accountant at Wilbur-Ellis is an essential link between operations and accounting. To succeed in this role, the individual must be detailed and customer service-oriented.\r

    \t\tKey Skills and Abilities Include:

    \t\t\tA bachelor's degree in accounting required\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\t3+ years of Cost and/or General Ledger Accounting experience\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tExperience using ERP and Financial Analytic systems\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practices\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tStrong analytical skills, problem-solving, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tStrong business acumen skills to understand the business and its impacts on the financials\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tAbility to identify the root cause of issues and work with appropriate personnel to see through the corrective actions\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tIntermediate to advanced level of expertise with MS Excel and comfortable working with large spreadsheets\r
    \t\r
    \t\r
    \t\t \r
    \t\r

    \t\tSpecific Responsibilities and

    Key Deliverables Include:
    \r
    \t\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tAnalyze inventory and COGS to ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tCollect and analyze data to validate standard costs of manufactured products\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tPrepare cost analysis for material, labor, and overhead variances\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tReconcile inventory balances to the GL to ensure accuracy and data integrity\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tWork closely with Operations, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable to resolve variances\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tParticipate in month-end closing activities (including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis)\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tSupport material usage reporting\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tPrepare audit schedules and provide support for the financial audit\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tCommunicate problem areas for training\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tDocument accounting processes and procedures\r
    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tPerform other duties as assigned\r
    \t\r
    \t\r

    \t\tCompensation and Benefits:
    \r

    \t\t\r
    \t\t\tIn compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $65,300 - $87,030. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits. \r
