Job description

Supervise/Manage QA functions for scheduled/unscheduled maintenance IAW with the CNAFINST series), Contractor GOP's and applicable T/M/S Maintenance Instruction Manual (MIMs)/Technical Publications. Perform CNAFINST series). Squadron Operating Procedure monitoring, quarterly audits, trend analysis. Scheduled/unscheduled Non-destructive Inspections (NDIs), and draft QA related Naval messages identified in the CNAFINST series). Additionally, QAs will notify the Government Oversight QAR's of all Flight Critical, Safety of Flight, and mandatory QA inspections, including Functional Check Flights (FCF) Briefs/Debriefs. Ensure contractor QA personnel are present on the hangar bay for all maintenance requiring hydraulic power on aircraft. Ensure all QAR's assigned to the Contractor maximize maintainer interaction and hangar deck/flight line supervision (defined as >50% of working day), observing and inspecting during maintenance evolutions. Perform or delegate hourly verification of "in-work" or "out-of-work" status on aircraft with NALCOMIS status of same maintenance.

Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations, overseeing multiple departments or locations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. Usually manage through subordinate supervisors. Excludes First-Line Supervisors

Training and Education Requirements:

* Military VMET or JST MUST be included with application to be considered (if prior military)*

  • Shall possess an extensive background in the field of aircraft maintenance and quality assurance with a minimum of 15 years of experience with 10 years of the last 15 years in direct aircraft maintenance repair and inspection.
  • Of the ten years of experience in aircraft maintenance and quality assurance, six years shall be in a supervisory position that included responsibility for assigning quality assurance program workloads as well as performing quality assurance monitoring functions.
  • Must have experience supervising quality assurance personnel supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Must have 8 years experience working in AS9100 covered environment.
  • BA/BS from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: engineering, business, logistics, management, math, sciences, and professional aeronautics with 8 plus years in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy requirements or,  AA/AS from an accredited college or university with 10 plus years in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy requirements or, High school graduate or equivalent. With 12 plus years in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy requirements
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a secret security clearance

Capabilities/Skills

Shall have sufficient knowledge and experience to effectively assume responsibility for the overall quality of the Contractor maintenance effort in accordance with the CNAFINST series).  

Capable of performing the functions and be knowledgeable of aviation ground safety and management.

Shall have a valid driver's license.

Experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.

Must have experienced interpreting technical publications, blueprints, wiring diagrams, aperture cards, and inspection findings; and have complete knowledge and understanding of aircraft logs and records.

Salary Range $110,000 - $120,000
