As the Resident Engineer, we'll look to you to carefully plan and develop the project, communicate exceptionally well with the project team, and work to mitigate or eliminate project risks that threaten schedule, budget, safety, or quality.
You'll serve as the primary project interface with the client, designer, contractor, operation staff, and ongoing construction contracts as well as outside agencies/stakeholders.
Your project awareness will be showcased when you monitor the construction contractor's operations for process conformance with the approved construction documents including but not limited to the project contract, specifications, quality control plan, safety plans, schedule, request for information (RFIs), change orders, pay requests, record drawings and contract closeout.
We'll provide you the opportunity to exhibit your business acumen skills when you'll manage and report on the status of the project schedule and budget, monitor and document contract progress and make recommendations to the engineer and client for contractor payments, change orders, and requests for information (RFIs) as well as effectively lead project meetings with engineers, contractors, clients and stakeholders.
You'll conduct site meetings, coordinate and oversee field activities for testing and inspection reviews.Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost control, schedule control, change management, risk management and performance. As well as conduct constructability reviews and reports of project designs prior to construction.
Rapport is key when you work to deliver a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor, and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project.
And while playing a role in client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, oral presentation, and contract negotiation consistent with established business development processes.
You'll get to demonstrate effective risk management and mitigation practices through proper risk identification, assessment, tracking and communication.Also, we'll ask you to establish project forecasts, schedule, financial reports and prepare invoices.
