    Dual Youth Activities Counselor for The Club at 12 Oaks and MacGregor Downs Country Club.

    POSITION OBJECTIVE:
    The Youth Activities Counselor is responsible for all activities related to youth activities at the club including but not limited to assisting in creating, implementing, and overseeing family-friendly events and youth programs, set-up, clean up, and supervising younger members in a safe and friendly way.
    POSITION FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
    • Greet members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
    • Respond to member questions by providing correct information and answering the telephone in a professional manner.
    • Assist with set-up, decorations, and safety checks before events.
    • Host and engage children and families in activities, including pool activities, events, camps, and holiday events.
    • Assist parents in signing their children in and out and checking identification.
    • Be knowledgeable of and comply, at all times, with the Club's standards, policies, and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
    • Ensure knowledge of all children's allergies and special needs.
    • Supervise children and use good judgment when in our care.
    • Adhere to all rules regarding younger members.
    • Assist with handling kids' meals.
    • Communicate effectively and inform immediate supervisors of any unforeseen circumstances and react appropriately.
    • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and secure locking of children's playroom.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by managers.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
    • High school education or equivalent required.
    • Must possess CPR and First Aid certification.
    • One year of childcare is required.
    • Knowledge of Outlook, internet applications, and use of office equipment.
    • Must have knowledge of age-appropriate activities and enjoy working with all age groups.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with members, guests, clients, and employees.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills including strong verbal, written, and positive interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to project voice and get the attention and cooperation of young members.
    • Knowledge of and ability to perform a required role in emergency situations.
    • Must work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
    • Ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and education levels.
    • Excellent team player with the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
    • Requires the ability to safely lift items up to 30 pounds.
    • Continuous walking and standing.
    • Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, and repetitive actions.
    • Be physically able to reach, bend, and stoop.
    • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
    • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
    • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
    • Must be effective in listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by members, guests, and team members.

    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor setting, busy and noisy environment.
    • Some varied weather conditions are expected with exposure to heat/humidity, or cool/cold weather.
    • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
