Position SummaryThe Blanchard Grinder Operator will operate 48" to 100" Blanchard Grinder.

This position will be responsible for setup and operate to grind flat surfaces to bring into set tolerances using calipers and micrometers.

The ideal candidate must be able to identify and prepare materials per customer's specification by reading prints to verify dimensions of metal parts in order to accomplish certain tolerances.

This is a full-time position. Work Shift is Wednesday (6 hours) and Thursday through Saturday 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Operate overhead and or jib craneSetup, adjust and operate a rotary wheel Blanchard grinderPlans operating procedures on rotary wheel machine for flat grindingMakes operating adjustments to calibrate machine adjusting devices to obtain tolerances and finish requirementsUses scale, micrometers and indicators to make setups, adjustments, and to check workWorks from part drawings, specifications and grinding instructionsUses magnetic table and chucks or clamps to position and secure workpiece on table of machine using care to support irregular work properly to avoid distortion; or arrange and properly secure multiple-piece setupsSelect proper statistical tools to maintain process control and quality reliabilityInspect and maintain work area and machine fluid levels dailyOther duties assignedPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This a physically demanding position; maintaining the physical strength to lift materials up to 50lbs. Endure prolonged standing.
