    Description
    Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing the occupational safety and environmental performance of the plant. They provide professional guidance and technical leadership in the areas of personnel safety, industrial hygiene and emergency response.

    We count on you for:
    • Lead and manage environmental operations for the Spartanburg plant to support federal, state, and local regulations, including Clean Air Act, RCRA, NPDES, and SARA III.
    • Assure compliance, develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote safety and environmental stewardship.
    • Implement sustainable initiatives with plant leadership to ensure compliance with environmental legislation across the organization.
    • Support site personnel, particularly operations and maintenance, in performing hazard recognition and mitigation.
    • Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy
    • Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies
    • Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA rules and corporate policies and procedures
    • Complete required corporate reporting related to health and safety
    • Develop and supervise annual IH program and monitoring plan, including approving PPE requirements
    • Participate in and support development of site safety programs and annual plans
    • Develop and implement site HSE training plan
    • Observe/monitor site behavior and performance and provide feedback to site management team
    • Participate regularly in site management team meetings and in all management system reviews
    You will bring:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science/ Environmental Policy/Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering or equivalent
    • 7-10 years of environmental compliance experience in an industrial setting with hazardous materials or equivalent
    • Requires broad knowledge of personnel safety and industrial hygiene with 3-5 years of experience managing health and safety in the chemical industry.
    • Thorough knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations for air, water and solid wastes
    • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and EPA regulations
    • Working knowledge of rules and regulations, particularly related to personnel safety and industrial hygiene
    • Effective negotiation and organized approach to work
    • Detail-oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Self-motivated and be able to motivate staff at all levels
