    Miller Brother Staffing in Lancaster, PA has the immediate need of an experienced Welder/Fabrication Lead for 1st and 2nd shift.

    Pay Rate - $24-$25/hour ($0.75 shift differential for 2 nd shift)


    Shift: 1 st shift:Monday-Friday 6am-2pm2 nd shift:Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm 3 most important things: Must have 5 years of welding/fabrication and 2 years supervisory/lead experience Must be able to accurately read a tape measure Seeking candidates that are looking for a company to call home Primary Duties Assists Production Supervisor in individual work areas, meeting production requirements based on customer specifications, with important emphasis on safety, quality, cost control, delivery, and employee development.

    Perform welding and fabrication of materials and perform general equipment maintenance. Responsibilities Welding metals as specified by drawings and work orders. Prepare metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage. Train new welders and mentoring team. Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as required. Liaising with the line supervisor, reporting any issues, and making suggestions for improvement. Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.

    Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by having the ability to work in a constant state of alertness, following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times and ensures safety precautions are observed by all fabrication facility employees.

    Use judgement in selecting the repair methods, equipment and materials used to accomplish assignments. Ensure safeguards for equipment and PPE while performing welding operations. Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.

    Perform other duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications Operate tools and equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination Autonomous/Independentenjoys working with little direction Experience with metal manufacturing Ability to transport, move, and lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the team and supervisor(s) Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, equipment, hazards, and safety precautions of the welding trade Knowledge and skill in use of computers and assorted software programs Ability to read and interpret blueprints Ability to apply basic math principles including fractions and basic geometry.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work Ability to maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance Requirements:
    Minimum 5 years welding and fabricating experience required. At least 2 years lead/supervisory experience required.

    Trade school certification or advanced degree from an accredited institution in welding preferred but not required High school diploma or equivalent qualification A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred A minimum of 1 year experience as a welder Able to proficiently read and use a tape measure Excellent knowledge of welding machinery and manual tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs and understand welding symbols Ability to build fittings and fixtures preferred AWS D1.

    1 highly desirable or the ability to pass the certification test Outstanding attention to detail Physical Demands:
    Employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, sit, balance, lift, and talk or hear.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers; and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; assist with team lifts up to 100 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Hearing is an important part of working in the job environment safely. The employee must be able to hear instruction, warnings, buzzers and alarms.
