    Established South Florida Medical Group looking to hire and train the right person to become a Newborn Hearing Screening Technician in Miami-Date.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS PART TIME POSITION:

    • Perform newborn hearing screening on all infants in the nursery and NICU prior to discharge from the hospital, and provide screening results to parents
    • Perform hearing screens using AABR Certified equipment
    • Answer general questions and inquiries, and provide written information to parents regarding hearing screen procedures and results
    • Obtain and document consent from parents to conduct hearing screens prior to screenings
    • Verify the following prior to screenings: infant's name, mother's name, mother's date of birth, parents' insurance, demographic information, family history of hearing loss, and name of Pediatrician (if applicable)
    • Share copy of result forms with parent(s) and place original copies in infant medical records
    • Keep Supervisor informed of operational issues requiring immediate intervention
    • Interact and develop relationships with hospital personnel to ensure effective levels of communication are maintained
    • Adhere to all HIPAA, PHI, and OSHA guidelines
    • Perform clerical duties as assigned
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on program needs, including weekdays, weekends and holiday shifts, if needed
    • Adhere to Information Security Policies

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Open availability to work weekends and holidays
    • Reliable attendance record
    • Be customer service focused
    • Familiarity with medical terminology
    • Possess basic computer skills
    • Ability to learn and operate hearing screen equipment
    • Strong organizational skills and highly attentive to detail
    • Communicate well and be comfortable working independently and in a team environment.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • BLS/CPR Certification: Company will provide upon the agreement of job offer.
