- Being responsible for the completion of design activities on assigned projects, through both self-execution and as leader of the project team.
- Functioning as Project Lead: schedule, organize and direct other engineers, designers, and subcontractors.
- Overseeing single or multidiscipline proposals including development of scopes of work, project schedules and cost estimates.
- Providing timely and detailed documentation for ensuring projects are on budget and appropriately accounted for.
- Frequently communicating with all parties involved in the design and construction to ensure the project standards are being maintained and in order with the project timeline.
- Maintaining a high level of customer service when dealing with clients and stakeholder
- Providing leadership to junior engineers
- Investigating and develop solutions that involve multiple engineering disciplines
- Analyzing project requirements, site conditions and user expectations and provide concise engineering recommendations
- Utilizing relevant software tools to assist in analysis and design
- Performing project management related tasks and communication (including environmental and occupational safety and health plans, sequence of work, cutover plans, and operational risk management plans)
- Preparing and maintain civil engineering standards and specifications to assure conformance to building codes and safety requirements and to improve the quality and economy of construction, maintenance, and operation.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar qualification
- 5+ years of project management experience related to water/stormwater
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and understand construction schedules, and use these to forecast labor, construction, and material activities
- Ability to travel when needed
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills and design skills.
