What we offer you:

• We are open 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday. No late hours

TEAM-Centric Practice: We know what technicians want and need. Time to see patients, control of over schedule, competent and well-trained paraprofessional team, and efficiency in the practice.

Generous Continuing Education Allowance: Veterinary Technicians need 12 CE hours annually to keep your license in good-standing. Blue Oasis will pay you 1 day of PTO allowance and up to $1000 to get those CE hours

Dental/Anesthesia/Leadership Academy Access: Small-group boot camps and clinical rotations are led by respected industry experts to develop your specialty skills.

Vet tech skills include:

• Taking histories
• Talking to pet owners about their pet's condition
• Preparing and taking care of equipment and supplies
• Taking vital signs, including blood pressure
• Collecting samples and completing laboratory tests
• Administering vaccinations and medications
• Dressing wounds
• Diagnostic imaging positioning and basic ultrasound skills
• Administering injectable and general anesthesia
• Keeping the exam rooms clean
• Updating patient records
• Performing therapeutic laser treatments
• Administering treatments and care for hospitalized patients
• Customer Service Vet techs need to be able to work with pet owners to ensure that owners understand how to care for their pets after returning home. Vet techs should cultivate positive relationships with their clients so that pet owners will be more likely to trust the vet tech's care recommendations. Empathy Having empathy for the pets you care for can help you provide better care, but having empathy for the pet owners is just as important. People come to think of their pets as part of the family, and they can get just as upset when something is wrong with their pets as they do when something happens to a spouse or child. Vet techs will need to be compassionate and understanding with pet owners. Communication Vet techs need to be able to communicate with other veterinary staff and with pet owners.

OUR FACILITY: Blue Oasis Pet Hospital is a fully-integrated practice offering Cornerstone PIMS software, in-house Idexx diagnostic equipment with Vetconnect+, DR50 digital imaging and IDEXX WebPac telemedicine integration, GE Versana ultrasound with telemedicine integration, Progeny dental digital imaging, iM3 dental unit with high-speed LED handpiece, Midmark anesthesia system, Heated surgical table, HotDog warming system, Midmark Biometric Anesthesia Monitors, Bovie electrocautery system with smoke suction, K-Laser therapeutic platinum series, Cyroprobe, Tono-Vet pen, Online pharmacy, Anipanion telehealth app, and Talkatoo dictation software.
