    What you'll be doing:


    Under the general direction and supervision of the Guest Services Coordinator, a Guest Service Specialist is an entry-level management position within the Guest Services Department.

    Specialists assist with administrative work, daily facility operations, the safety of all patrons and staff within the building, and general supervision, and leadership of the Guest Service Representative staff.

    Tasks may include but are not limited to opening and closing of the building, cash handling, scheduling staff, participating in both interviews and disciplinary conversations for Representatives, registering new members, processing program registrations and refunds, taking reservations for parties and facility rentals, and general Customer Service tasks.

    Serve as the Manager on Duty and main point of contact for all guest service staff during scheduled shiftBe the front desk expert and point of contact for all departments to share important information to the public such as class and program cancellations, pool closures, etc.

    Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, training, developing, disciplining, and scheduling of Guest Service staff Make sound, independent and timely decision while applying your knowledge of guest service best practices, and District policy and procedure standards.

    Complete and maintain accurate logs, daily records, incident reports, time keeping reports, and cash handling protocols. Effectively present verbal and written information to guests, program participants, co-workers, supervisors, volunteers, and other District employees. Assist with staff meetings, and the training of recreational software. Have basic computer knowledge with programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Other programs include CivicRec and Paylocity. Participate in Departmental Committees as assigned.

    Has the ability to remain composed in emergency situations, make sound judgment and work effectively with guests and other recreation staff under stressful circumstances.

    Enforces rules and policies with staff and guests within the building.
    Provides emergency or non-emergency services in a composed manner using sound judgment for all patrons in the building Requirements

    Required Qualifications:
    Candidates over 18 must pass a background check prior to employment.

    Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays based on the needs of the District.

    High School Diploma or GEDOne year of staff management experienceTwo years of Customer Service experienceCPR, AED, First Aid Certification, or the ability to become certified within the first 90 days of employmentPhysical Demands, Job Location, Equipment Utilized:
    Some duties within this position may require some physical strength and ability. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, feel, or finger; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
