    Mechanical Engineer


    III

    POSITION OVERVIEWApplies mechanical systems design knowledge, skill, and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process.

    Serves as the primary liaison responsible for coordination and communication activities between the design team and the client/customer and provides project management oversight and professional support throughout the entire construction process.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvides complete management of project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client/customer, accurately & timelyIn accordance with company standards, provides assistance in the preparation of accurate and complete proposals and engineering agreementsAccurately and timely produces mechanical systems design elements consistent with project specificationsAccurately and timely produces design elements in accordance with the project hours, scope & parametersProvides research design options consistent with project requirementsSelects appropriate equipment for project typeCreates construction HVAC documents for permitting that are accurate and complete.

    Produces accurate and complete load calculations and engineering project specifications within project parametersAccurately and consistently execute QA/QC processProvide project coordination with in-house and outside sourcesProvides timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes, and standards consistent with company quality standards.

    Actively participates in post-design consultation activities and represents the company in client meetings through construction completionResponsible for onboarding and overseeing junior engineersActively mentors junior engineers and designersProvide timely billing of projects to the accounting departmentFollows established work rules, policies, and proceduresActively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costsCooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned
    NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSOther general office processes and procedures and project activitiesActively participate in a company committee
    REQUIREMENTSA 4-year degree in engineering is required, EIT and/or PE preferredMinimum 5 years experienceExperience in project managementKnowledge of various HVAC/plumbing/fire protection systems, equipment, and conceptsKnowledge of engineering drafting standardsKnowledge and utilization of company & design standardsExpert knowledge of building codes and standardsDemonstrable understanding of the construction process and interpretation of construction drawingsKnowledge of AutoCADKnowledge of RevitGood communication skills
