- Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Assists with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance & Accounting Department.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Reviews expense coding to ensure consistent allocation and compliance with CMS guidelines.
- Performs general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, etc.
- Performs monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording of adjusting, reclassification and investment journal entries.
- Assists in the annual audit process, Medicare cost review, and other audits as needed.
- Assists in annual IRS Form 990 filing and other statutory filings.
- Provides accounting support to Accounting and Finance Manager and assists in the preparation of monthly financial reports and analyses.
- Assists in conducting ad-hoc analyses and performs other duties as assigned.
- Produce reports as needed or requested.
- Copy and distribute pertinent information to managers and/or staff.
- Attend meetings as required and participate on committees as directed.

- Have a strong understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Have excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with MS office applications.

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven counties of the greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate opening for a Full Time Staff Accountant in the Azusa office.
Position Description:
This position will report to the Accounting & Finance Manager.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the preparation of journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing sub ledgers, performing month end closing functions, assisting in preparation of financial reports and assisting in the cash disbursement process for OneLegacy and OneLegacy Foundation under the guidance of the Accounting & Finance Manager.
This position shall be a subject matter expert in the use of accounting systems and have expertise in the use of Excel spreadsheets.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
BA/BS in Business or BBA with an emphasis in Accounting required
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related position preferred.
Certification/License:
OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver's license and current vehicle insurance.
Equipment:
PC proficient. Working knowledge of telephone systems, photocopier, and 10-key adding machine. Reliable automotive transportation required.
Pay Range:
$61,400 - $74,400
