    Description


    This is a hybrid role meaning you will be able to work from home most of the time as long as you are prepared to work onsite in Plymouth as and when required.

    This might be once or twice per fortnight.

    My client is a large defence and engineering consultancy who provide critical through-life support to the Royal Navy and other military clients across the globe.

    They are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to Engineer to provide technical engineering support and advice. Ideally you need to have experience working on Nuclear Licensed sites and experience designing Nuclear plants.

    Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation and maintenance of pressure/pipework systems.
    Knowledge of the design lifecycle.
    Knowledge of the general regulations, legislation and standards that are applicable to nuclear process and pressure system design.
    Knowledge of project specification, planning and budgeting.
    Technical experience with one or more of the following:

    Pressure systems.
    Computer aided design.
    Component engineering simulation.
    System fluid flow analysis.
    Nuclear plant design.


    The successful candidate will have a minimum of an HND/FdSc/FdEng or equivalent in a mechanical/process engineering discipline and be professionally registered with an engineering institution.
