    Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

    Reports to: Team Leader

    Location: Bronx, NY

    Brief Job Description:

    DBIS is a not-for-profit agency located in the Bronx and Yonkers, serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement Individual Service Plans
    • Support each individual in establishing functional independence in specific skill areas
    • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

    The DSP provides:

    • Supports based on the individual's needs, preferences, and choices
    • Perform a wide variety of tasks and activities based on the valued outcomes of each person
    • Encourage, guide and offer training to develop daily living skills, ensuring personal needs are met
    • Promoting active engagement in community life and ensuring health and safety
    • Create a positive and enriching program environment for all persons supported

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Six months - 1 year in the Human or Health services field preferred but not required
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with people
    • Exceptional analytical ability and organizational skills
