SM Repackaging Operator

Overview

As our SmileMakers Repackaging Operator, you will be responsible for operating repackaging equipment and accessories to correctly package products according to documented specifications. You will also assemble treasure chest and samplers, and box and label products for warehouse.

Detailed Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Operates sticker sheeter, sticker roller, bagger, heat wrapper and or scales
1. Assembles treasure chest and samplers, sometimes working with other departments on large runs
2. Read set up sheets and set up samplers
3. Cross trains in processes as workload and equipment allow
4. Abide by all policies and procedures of SmileMakers and Oriental Trading Company
5. Maintain regular and predictable attendance
6. Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors
7. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice

Marginal Functions

1. Performs operator level troubleshooting on equipment, accessories and fixtures
2. Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Average reading ability to correctly follow written instructions
• Basic counting and math skills to pick and process the correct quantity
• Ability to meet minimum performance and accuracy expectations according to set policies and procedures in a performance management environment
• Ability to walk for the duration of the shift
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
• Ability to frequently squat, push, bend, and reach overhead
• Ability to frequently move up to 35 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally over a distance of several feet
• Requires good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, and attention to detail to identify alpha and numeric characters

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience in a production environment preferred
