    Stryker is hiring a Preclinical Manager for our Neurovascular Preclinical Department. This Preclinical Department breaks from tradition Alongside overseeing product development performance and safety studies, it engages in diverse R&D endeavors, including global physician site visits and clinical training. As a team leader, you'll oversee researchers conducting studies from Discovery to Validation. You'll also spearhead strategies for enhancing functional capabilities, ensuring preclinical tests mirror clinical conditions as closely as feasible.

    What you will do:
    • Execute a comprehensive talent strategy to attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering personal and professional growth, driving team performance, and delivering high-quality results with enthusiasm and dedication.
    • Lead and mentor teams to solve technical, business, and personnel challenges through problem-solving and process improvement methodologies
    • Oversite of complex preclinical efforts within the business unit, ensuring goal achievement, budget adherence, and talent allocation.
    • Translate department objectives and strategies into performance goals for direct reports.
    • Provide guidance on preclinical strategies, research initiatives and career development for staff.
    • Serves as a scientific and technical resource and provides on-going feedback and coaching to direct reports, preclinical researchers, project teams and across the business.
    • Facilitates communication of advanced preclinical research and/or performance results to management and/or product design teams in an appropriate fashion to enhance their visualization and understanding of device function and interaction with its environment.
    • Develop department tools and methodologies and establish cross-functional team relationships.
    What you will need

    Required:
    • Bachelor of Science in a Science or Engineering discipline
    • Minimum of 8+ years' experience working within the medical device industry with proficiency in preclinical is preferred.
    • Minimum of 2+ years in leading a team of professionals, providing direction, mentorship, and support to drive performance and achieve organizational objectives.
    Preferred:
    • Masters degree preferred.
    • In-depth understanding of, experience in, and ability to mentor in one or more technical / functional disciplines.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding teams to achieve project objectives and exceed performance expectations
    • Talented performance coach who is skilled at providing actionable feedback to team members, setting clear performance objectives and managing team member performance.
    • General knowledge of the healthcare market and competitors.
    • Experience executing a talent and performance management strategy.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex plans and technical information to team members within a division.
    • Proven ability to deliver programs or other business goals on time, on quality and within budget.
    • Additional role-specific preferred qualifications may be added as deemed necessary by the local hiring manager.
    Travel Percentage: 30%
