    About the role:

    We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer (Hardware Testing) to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our desktop software applications that integrate with hardware devices used in soil testing and geothermal energy systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to validate the functionality, usability, and performance of our software products.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, integration, and system testing of Windows desktop applications built using WinUI3 and other UI frameworks.
    • Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and ensure test coverage for new features and enhancements.
    • Design and execute test automation frameworks and scripts to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.
    • Perform exploratory testing and ad-hoc testing to identify potential issues and edge cases.
    • Conduct hardware-software integration testing, verifying the seamless interaction between our desktop applications and various soil testing and geothermal energy equipment.
    • Analyze and triage defects, document detailed bug reports, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues.
    • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and provide feedback on testability and quality aspects.
    • Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on Windows desktop applications and hardware integration testing.
    • Hands-on experience with WinUI3, Win32, or other Windows UI frameworks.
    • Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., C#, C++, Python) for test automation scripting.
    • Experience with popular test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestComplete) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
    • Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Familiarity with soil testing, geothermal energy systems, or related domains is a plus.

    Location: Hybrid in San Jose, CA (2-3 days onsite)

    Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $115,000-125,000 annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
