    OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY:
    Directs, plans, and controls the efficient flow of transported goods and dispatch services. Creates and implements trainings, procedures and transportation routing. Ensures the overall operation of the Transportation department aligns with established Goodwill mission, purpose and guidelines.


    ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Essential Functions Statement(s):
    Analyzes, assesses, implements, and measures systems of effective and timely routing for the movement of goods, including dispatch services. Reviews regularly for adjustments. Creates and implements effective logistical processes to balance cost saving and customer needs.

    Ensures Goodwill locations and donation sites are served according to the needs of the organization, and are provided excellent customer service.

    Works collaboratively with other departments in the organization to determine appropriate way to operate the transportation and flow of goods.

    Creates departmental budget, and monitors expenses.

    Develops and reviews procedures and recommends policies pertaining to Transportation Recommends changes in procedures and submits them to the Executive VP.

    Responsible for implementing organizational objectives and initiatives. Assists with recruiting, screening, and selecting department candidates. Sets department goals. Communicates the goal to staff, and motivates them towards achieving it. Provides guidance regarding performance management for employees in the department. Assists in resolving departmental concerns and complaints. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property to appropriate personnel. Promotes safety in the workplace at all times and enforces all safety rules and regulations. Oversees vehicle maintenance program, ensures equipment of all fleet vehicles with first aid, safety kits, and required policies. Assists in reviewing department operations and identifying areas for improved efficiencies, and means of decreasing waste. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.


    QualificationsSKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) in related field required

    Experience:
    Minimum eight years of high-level experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Computer Skills:
    Must be computer literate. Must be able to use Internet, e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


    Certificates & Licenses:
    Must have a vehicle, valid CA Driver's License, and driving record acceptable by Goodwill's insurance company. Must have current CPR & First Aid Certificate.


    Other Requirements:
    Must have supervisory experience of multiple departments/areas. Logistics experience. Ability to conduct training for a minimum of 150 people. Must have overall knowledge of product flow, planning, and customer service expectations. Must be available to work weekend and evenings.#J-18808-Ljbffr
