    With over 50 years of providing healthcare services to Charlotte County, ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte continues to provide quality, compassionate healthcare to residents of Charlotte County and surrounding areas.

    ShorePoint Port Charlotte's is a 254-bed full-service facility with a care team is comprised of roughly 900 associates, 100 volunteers, and over 300 physicians specializing in over 40 specialties.

    ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte is a full-service facility offering services in emergency care, primary stroke center, orthopedics and the only licensed obstetric and pediatric units and Level II neonatal intensive care unit in Charlotte County.

    The on-campus Southwest Florida Heart Center is an accredited chest pain center with PCI offering comprehensive cardiac services.


    As a Medical Technologist - Microbiology Lead at ShorePoint Health, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best, providing quality care to our patients Our staff enjoy a robust benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), flexible scheduling, 100% licensure / certification reimbursement, and tuition reimbursement.


    Requirements:

    • Licenses: Active Florida Medical Technologist licensure in Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.
    • Education: Associates Degree or higher education in Medical Technology or Sciences, required. ASCP certification, preferred.
    • One (1) year experience in a generalist role, but will consider newly licensed graduates with
    • Bachelor's Degree and ASCP, preferred.

    About the job:

    • Leads the work of others.
    • Provides resolution to client issues and maintains customer service and support.
    • Assumes responsibility for specimen integrity on specimens received in the laboratory.
    • Provides leadership and problem resolution.
    • Assists Supervisor and Manager in planning section goals and procedures for accomplishing goals.
    • Uses analytical skills necessary to research routine information needed for accuracy and completeness of laboratory testing.
    • Uses organizational skills to maintain information on patient test orders and department work flow.
    • Requires graduation from an accredited MT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
    • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
