    Department Information
    The Department of Natural Sciences serves both science majors and non-majors taking science courses for their core curriculum. We offer the Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. The B.S. in Biology degree is a broad undergraduate degree which prepares students for the modern workplace, graduate school or pre-professional schools (e.g., medical, dental, veterinary, pharmacy).

    Job Summary
    Middle Georgia State University is seeking a candidate for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology for the School of Health and Natural Sciences in the Department of Natural Sciences to begin fall 2024. This position involves teaching, scholarship and service. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening, lower level and/ or upper-level biology courses. Travel from Cochran campus to a satellite campus (Dublin) may be required.

    Responsibilities
    This position involves teaching an undergraduate course load equivalent to 4/4, and scholarship, all faculty are expected to assist in student recruitment, curriculum development, mentoring, and serving on departmental and university committees. Travel among our campuses will be required as needed. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes, online and/or hybrid courses.

    Required Qualifications

    PhD degree in Biology or related field with special attention given to the following area of expertise: microbiology.
