    Description

    Work under the direction of the Senior Manager, Financial Operations to collect, analyze and report detailed cost/financial data. Responsible for inventory accounting and variance analysis. Works with Operations, Engineering and Estimating teams to keep standards current and relevant. Work with Sales team on forecasting and analysis.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Develops presentation of financial information and models in a concise and comprehensible manner to senior management for respective Plant location. (Grand Rapids, MI and Anaheim, CA)
    • Act as a subject matter expert and be available as a resource to Financial Analysts within Oliver.
    • Demonstrate initiative and adaptability to perform adhoc projects independently.
    • Lead the effort to set standard material, labor, and burden costs for the respective plant on an annual basis and maintain these costs throughout the year to ensure proper accounting and accurate analysis.
    • Responsible for identifying, recording and reporting production variances, initiating corrective actions and timely follow-up.
    • Responsible for the cost accounting system and ERP accounting standards for the respective plant
    • Responsible for the monthly operations close activities including analyzing monthly sales/cost of goods sold financial results, preparing journal entries, establishing operational reserves, and performing account reconciliations for Inventory and COGS.
    • Drive continued improvement on effectiveness of weekly and monthly operational reporting from the ERP system.
    • Manage the process for changes to inventory standards, ensuring proper approval and documentation is maintained.
    • Lead the effort to conduct monthly reviews with cross functional teams to value excess and obsolete inventory reserves and ensure business partners complete action items on optimizing usage of inventory.
    • Work with Subject Matter Expert on Pricing Team in cost accuracy/margin reviews and assist in Oliver's Quote process.
    • Extract cost data and conduct analysis for estimates and cost reduction projects.
    • Develop management reports for operations to review KPI trends, identify inconsistencies that lead to recommended improvement opportunities.
    • Own the compilation of the annual budget for COGS by reviewing historical trends and strategic goals to aid senior management in decision making.
    • Streamline work activity flow with external auditors to support year-end reviews of inventory balances and costs; this includes a review of cost journal entries, standard revaluations, price tests, cycle counts review and labor/burden rates.
    • Provide leadership to assure that the cycle count process and accuracy is executed per the company policy at the site.
    • Drive process improvements for analysis and financial performance through Gross Profit
    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • Experience with SAP preferred
    • Experience with a global manufacturing company with exposure to international issues a plus
    • Experience with month-end financial reporting
    • Experience with Standard Costing required
    • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus
    • Ability to understand the big picture and company strategy while also having high attention to detail
    • Required to work efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision. Has a strong ability to show initiative and be a problem solver
    • Advanced Excel skills, including ability to create vlookups and utilize basic spreadsheet analytics with data, sorting and formulas a requirement

    Working Conditions

    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Must be able to lift up to 10lbs.
