- Manage infusion reactions and treat as appropriate.
- Review infusion orders for clarity and modify as necessary.
- Independently assess and evaluate patients in the infusion clinic of Stony Brook Cancer Center who present with new or progressive symptoms/signs.
- Review, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding laboratory findings for patients seen in the infusion center.
- Manage complications of chemotherapy including writing/editing chemotherapy orders.
- Manage outpatient phone calls including toxicity assessments and recommendations.
- Provide coverage and management for sick walk-ins.
- Educate patients and family members regarding chemotherapy toxicities.
- Knowledge of basic software packages and hospital information systems (EMR).
- Additional responsibilities may also be required as the position evolves over time.

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for supervising the Infusion center at Stony Brook Cancer Center (Part-Time position).
The APP will report to the Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology. Responsibilities may include all or some of the following:
REQUIRED QUALS:
Nurse Practitioner: Current NYS RN license. Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nursing. NYS license and certification as an ANP and/or Family FNP.
Physician Assistant: NYS License and certification as a Phys. Asst. Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of PA's.
PREFERRED QUALS:
Experience in the management and treatment of cancer patients. Excellent communication skills. Experience with chemotherapy toxicities and infusion reactions.
