    Ayurprana is now opening a facility called So-Hum Mountain Healing Resort, that will help facilitate healing at all levels for an individual to release body work, detox panchakarma therapies, and educational class (yoga, breath work, meditation, nutrition, etc...) to help support an individual in his / her healing process.

    Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Sohum Mountain Healing is a space where nature and ancient wisdom come together to create transformational experiences.

    We offer healing experiences that promise to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit.

    Guest can spend their days immersed in the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga to allow themselves a space to reflect, heal, and awaken to a greater sense of Self.

    Position StatementA Kitchen Line/Prep/Server/Busser/Dishwasher reports to the Executive Chef and General Manager is responsible for Elevating Conscience and fostering the AyurPrana Wellness Center culture within all the business units for AyurPrana.

    The Kitchen Line/Prep/Server/Busser/Dishwasher must ignite the human spirit by creating unrivaled customer and employee experiences fueled by fun, enthusiasm and compassion that challenge each person to unlock their own potential.

    The Kitchen Line/Prep/Server/Busser/Dishwasher plays an integral role in the successful operation and administration of the kitchen and dining room creating an unrivaled experience for our guests.

    This role is responsible in assisting the Executive Chef with line prep to ensure quality.

    This role acts as Server and Busser ensuring all guests are provided excellent and expedient service executing the highest level of professionalism and courtesy.

    This role ensures a clean and sanitized kitchen by executing proper cleaning and sanitation of kitchen cookware, china, and flatware.

    The Line/Prep/Server/Busser/Dishwasher must ensure that our associates and our clients are treated with the utmost respect at all times since they are the key to our success.

    Primary DutiesFoster the AyurPrana Wellness Center culturePassion and commitment to the business at an ownership levelEnsure compliance with business standards and proceduresMaintain effective and open communicationFoster teamwork Must possess high energy, professionalism and confidence every day and in every wayBe highly motivated and enthusiasticPrepare food items that are prepared ahead of time ensuring to not over prepare estimated needsDate all food containers and rotate to ensure all perishables are kept at proper temperaturesCheck pars for shift use; determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set upMaintain a safe working environment through compliance of safety and health department guidelinesUnderstand and comply with emergency proceduresSet up banquet room as instructed by supervisor to include linen, service ware and glasswareAttend meeting before events to understand function and menusServe guests during dining and banquet functions to ensure positive guest experienceServe food and/or beverage in order and to the expectation of guest expectationsAbility to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu itemsAbility to transport up to 30 lbs.

    through a crowded room on a continuous basisAbility to stand for long periods of timePromptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal Removes full tubs from bus stations to dishwashing areaRetrieves cleaned dishes, glassware and utensils from dish room and distributes to each stationGathers all dirty dishware from tubs brought to the dish room, rinses and stacks in dish racksClear dishes of leftovers and trash in order to prepare for automated washingUnloads clean dishes from racks after washed and inspect for cleanliness and stack on shelvesManually scrub pots, pans and other kitchen equipment that cannot be washed automaticallyMaintain dishwashing equipment in good conditionKeep dish room in clean and orderly condition at all times and in compliance with health departmentMaintains clean flooring in function area at end of shiftAbility to access and accurately input computer informationMust be capable to successfully prioritize, delegate, organize and multi-task Ability to effectively display a high level of patience with clients in highly charged timesInteract positively with guests and take action to resolve issues to maintain high guest satisfactionGreet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcomeRespond with appropriate action to guest's requests and provide accurate informationMust maintain a safe working environment through ongoing compliance of safety guidelinesTreat clients, guests, associates, vendors and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all timesComply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basisProfessional and concise written and verbal communication skills Perform other tasks that are deemed necessary to the success of the retreat center and the associatesTo be considered for this position, please follow the link to submit your application and upload your resume.

    Sohumhealing RequirementsPhysical Requirements - (not limited to)Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs.

    Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crawl, reach above and below shoulders, repetitive arm and wrist use, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.

    Must be able to recognize, register, and respond visually to color and depth perception.
    Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
    Must be able to work indoor, outdoor, in extreme heat and cold.
    Must be able to work around moderate noise level.
    Salary Description $17/hr
