• The Senior Accountant maintains a complete and accurate general ledger and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting

Overview of the role:

• Prepares and posts journal entries for period/month-end closing
• performs various diagnostic reviews of database records and balancing of subsidiary ledgers and control accounts
• Reviews other accounting transactions and documentation for accuracy and compliance with internal controls
• Processes full-cycle accounts receivable duties
• Coordinates cash management activities including initiating weekly and monthly bank transfers and monitoring account balances daily
• Completes monthly financial statement preparation and distribution
• Reviews and maintains capital assets transactions records
• Assists in the accurate, complete, and timely preparation of appropriate audit schedules. Assist the auditors to make sure their needs are met
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience including general ledger and monthly close responsibilities
• Knowledgeable of GAAP
• Governmental accounting experience is a plus
