    Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist to join a large T&D Utility Contractor and oversee safety protocols and procedures for transmission and distribution projects in the field across Arizona. The Safety Specialist will play a crucial role in promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and mitigating risks associated with field operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for field operations in alignment with company standards and industry best practices.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
    • Provide on-site safety training, coaching, and support to field personnel, subcontractors, and project teams to promote awareness and mitigate risks.
    • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to integrate safety considerations into project planning, execution, and scheduling.
    • Review and approve safety plans, permits, and work procedures for field activities, ensuring alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation, and generate reports as needed.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging safety technologies to continuously improve safety practices and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • Professional certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, OHST, CHST) preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the construction, utilities, or energy industry.
    • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and other relevant safety requirements.
