    Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM, NX, or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.

    Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.

    This position is part of the Newport News Shipbuilding Nuclear Reactor Servicing Engineering & Design group, responsible for providing design and engineering support to service Navy nuclear reactors.

    Reactor Servicing Engineering Design offers a challenging, high paced, team environment with opportunity to excel and endless possibilities for professional growth.

    Engineering Design is responsible for Electrical, Structural, Mechanical and Fluid engineering design of variety of nuclear reactor servicing equipment and systems - Excellence at the Core.

    NNS Apprentice School graduate
    Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
    Autocad or 3D classes preferred
    3D modeling/Inventor Experience
    Technical Drawing experience
    Technical writing experience
    Microsoft Suite experience
